4/7/2026 – CHARACTERS! & Data

Good Morning Adventurers,

It’s another glorious morning to wake up, listen to some Thomas Bergersen, and just write. So let’s just jump right into what today’s coffee induced ramblings will be.

  • Website & Social Media Traffic

Character Art Reveal

The artist that I’ve commissioned has finally completed the work for Grim. I’ve shared several things about this character over the last several weeks, so It’s going to be a ton of fun getting to finally share what he actually looks like. Not right away thought, first I’ll stretch it out and do a bit of teasing the character. Maybe two or three posts throughout the day before revealing what the character looks like. We’ll see what I do once I have the files for the character officially sent to me.

Maybe I’ll tease hints of the character throughout the week, along with some new facts about the character that I’ve yet to reveal. Simple things like their height/weight, favorite hobby, etc. Little things that can help humanize the character for the reader. I’ll also share some of the sketches that the artist sent to me over the time she has spent working on the character. Finally, I’ll also be revealing the wonderful artist that has been working on the character. She has been very professional and kept communication with me on the project. So it’s exciting that I finally get to share this with the rest of the world.

Website & Social Media Traffic

Let me start this off with saying that I am no social media expert. So my skills in posting and sharing items is limited to what I can think of and have available to me at the time. I pay attention to the things that do work and try to figure out the best times to post anything that will get the most traffic. However, one thing that I, for the life of me, cannot figure out is why I had one week where I had a ton of traffic flowing through this site.

Left Picture: Week of Feb. 9th through the 15th
Right Picture: Week of Apr. 6th through the 12th

When you look at the pictures above, I have highlighted the two weeks in question. One is obviously this week, since it has the lowest amount of views. The other picture is highlighting the highest week of traffic that I’ve had all year. The thing is…I don’t know why. The only thing that I wrote about that week was about joining the manuscript writing contest and having it posted right before 4:30 A.M. Even when I look at my social media data and traffic—there is nothing to say that did exceptionally well to create that kind of attraction to my website. So this is me, saying that I am absolutely stumped about how this could have happened.

However, I could sit here all day and speculate the “why’s” all morning long, but I’m not. I just wanted to bring this up because I thought it was interesting to share. Internet traffic is like an ocean in a way, and the waves of interaction some weeks are much stronger than others, and I’m ok with that. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not trying to become internet famous here. This website is a means for creating a writing habit. Where I can sit down and force myself to write, keeping to the goals that I have set for myself. The biggest takeaway from this observation is that I need to write more short stories. I need to write everyday and I should be sharing more of those pieces of writing. Everything that I write is a form of practice that’ll draw me closer to completing one larger project. Even if I don’t finish Project: Dancing Night by the beginning of summer, I should have enough written by then that I could combine them into an anthology, and publish it as a book. That way, I’ll have at least completed one of my goals that I set out for myself at the beginning of this year.

Ok, that’s enough rambling for now. Lets see if the traffic for this post increases if I can post it before five A.M. Otherwise, I hope that you have enjoyed my coffee induced ramblings on this already fine day. So until next time, have a blessed day and continue seeking out adventure in everything that you do, Adventurer.

Could be where you shared it that week and how it was viewed?

    1. The funny thing is other than the time it was posted, there hasn’t been that much difference.
