Good Morning Adventures,
So after that poem that I wrote I have been doing a ton of storyboarding. Between work and spending time with my family, it has been hard to just sit down and write. To cap it all off, I ended up getting sick this weekend which killed any sort of momentum that I had created earlier this week. Now that I am no longer lying around, I can get back into the rhythm of writing again.
So, to outline this new story, I have essentially crafted the bare bones of a story outline. As of right now, I have an idea on how my two main characters are going to meet, what their objective is, and how the story might end. When I mentioned to my wife that this was going to be a romance story, she then pointed out to me two essential things that I need.
A – What are the stakes for the Female MC. Why is she in this story?
B – Not to leave out moments that other genres might, such as the journey from Point A to point B.
This was considerably refreshing to hear since she normally doesn’t say anything about my writing. So, with her advice in mind, I need to take some time and defining what my two main characters are and what stakes do they have in the story. Why are they doing what they are doing in this adventure? My old approach(back in college) would be just to write and think about all of that stuff later, but with the time that I have I need to use wisely. Even just creating this outline has given me a clearer picture on writing this story. With it also being romance, if I have the characters well rounded and defined, it will make the writing that much faster.
So as of right now, I will get back to finishing up the “About Me” post that I have been putting off. Essentially, this is something that I have always been hesitant about doing. I’m normally an ambivert when it comes to anything, however I become incredibly shy and nervous when I need to do something as simple as an introduction. So wish me luck as I work on it and hopefully publish it today.
Until then — Incognita Tempta, Interritus, Invictus.
